Meet Jason
Founder & CIO
Jason is the Founder and CIO of Virga, bringing over 15 years of experience in scaling early-stage startups and driving enterprise growth through proprietary platform development. With a proven track record in sectors ranging from digital healthcare and consumer technology to digital marketplace ventures, he has achieved multiple successful exits.

He was also an early contributor to IPFS & Protocol labs, the design and development arm behind the decentralized web and cloud based storage protocol, FileCoin, which introduced proof-of-replication, a cloud computing protocol for secure, blockchain-based, cloud storage. In 2016, partnered with BlazeTrail Inc., he co-founded PWI, a consultancy supporting the growth of ventures in Financial, Digital Health, and Privacy-Preserving Technology; PWI offers strategic advisory, product and community development, and capital investment for early-stage ventures.

Currently, Jason spearheads Product Development & Growth for a cutting-edge IoT and AI-enhanced surgical coordination platform. He has orchestrated strategic partnerships with premier healthcare organizations across the U.S., UAE, and Germany, including SCA, a subsidiary of United Healthcare, and the International Medical Center in Saudi Arabia.

Beyond his core ventures, Jason serves as an advisor to a carefully curated group of high-impact companies, each a leader in its respective field. These include Scanta Inc., showcased at the 2018 Silicon Valley SharkTank; LifeVoxel Inc., an innovator in AI medical imaging; C-Lan Wireless Technology, an IoT hardware solutions specialist; Infinity Inc., a multi-state licensed cannabis operation; and Sutcliffe Holdings, the estate management firm for Stuart Sutcliffe, an original member of the Beatles. In both his entrepreneurial and advisory roles, Jason has established himself as a discerning authority in technology and innovation on an international stage.

Director, Global Business Development
Don serves as the director of Global Business Development for Virga.

With an impressive career spanning over four decades, Mr. Courtney is one of the most influential investors and innovators in diverse sectors—from entertainment and professional sports to healthcare and military technologies.

Beginning his career in 1979, he has been at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technologies. In healthcare, he has over 34 years of market expertise, having funded and introduced TENS Units and Controlled Cold Therapy to the orthopedic sector. His innovations have been licensed by major industry players like Smith & Nephew.

Mr. Courtney also pioneered the world's first plug-and-play wireless network, C-LAN, specifically designed for the Internet of Things in tracking and sensing applications for supply chain management and metadata analytics. He is also the co-founder of an one of the leading AI enhanced surgical coordination platforms on the market today which developed proprietary surgical coordination platform atop an IoT and AI infrastructure.

Beyond healthcare, he catalyzed advancements in wireless motion capture technology, widely used in the movie and video game industry. In a landmark achievement in 1979, Mr. Courtney and his New York-based partners were pioneers in consumer satellite technology, introducing the first direct satellite-to-dish pay-per-view TV. This same group was instrumental in establishing both the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and the National College Television Network.

Mr. Courtney also owned the internationally acclaimed Lavers International Tennis Resort in Delray Beach, Florida.

Born in Montreal, he initially garnered recognition as an International Investigative Broadcast Journalist and Bureau Chief on Parliament Hill, covering Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau. His journalistic efforts, particularly two investigative documentaries on the 1976 Montreal Olympics, earned him an award from the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Transitioning from journalism, Mr. Courtney led a successful sports marketing firm, representing athletes across hockey, football, and tennis. He was also a restaurateur, owning several upscale dining establishments in Ottawa and Toronto. In his role as Director of the Ottawa Rough Riders Football Club in the Canadian Football League from 1976 to 1979, he elevated the club's profitability and oversaw its victory in the Grey Cup twice in a three-year span.Mr. Courtney’s multi-faceted career, marked by numerous accolades and pioneering innovations, solidifies his standing as a leading authority in investment and technology across multiple industries.
Meet Len
Director, Technology
A serial entrepreneur and investor based out of San Diego with over 20 years experience in Enterprise Web & User Experience (UX) Design driving product and experience design for some of the world's largest, and most innovative, financial institutions.

Len previously led the design of award winning financial technology tools for Charles Schwab and is the former Vice President of UX Design at Blackrock (the largest global asset manager in the world, $3.5+ trillion) where he oversaw user experience & design for 90+ web sites and mobile applications.

After his time at BlackRock Len Co-Founded, Qualcomm incubated Telsano, a health informatics and medical device startup which combined vitals and body composition biometrics collected into a single device, accessible online and via mobile applications. Telsano's digital ecosystem enabled end-users to assess their biometrics, set goals, track historical changes and enjoy living a preventive health lifestyle supported by their healthcare providers, employers, fitness trainers and social network.
Len currently sits as the principle of Ledogo where he oversees product and UX for fintech clients including Barclay's Global Investments, Charles Schwab Brokerage and others.
Meet Katya
Director, Investor Relations
Katya serves as the Director of Investor Relations and Chief of Staff, bringing a rich background in executive support, communication strategy, and operational planning.

With prior experience at industry giants like Twitter, Randstand, PWI, and Acrobatux, she has honed her skills in both internal and external relations. At Twitter, she played a key role in shaping the company's messaging and culture. Her operational acumen was further developed at Randstand and PWI, where she was pivotal in strategic planning and investor communications.

In her current role, Katya is responsible for overseeing all investor relations activities, ensuring clear and effective communication with the investment community. She also provides strategic operational support to the executive team, aligning the company's goals with stakeholder expectations. Her comprehensive expertise makes her instrumental in driving both public engagement and internal efficiency.

Meet Alex
Director, Venture
Alex currently leads Virga's Transaction Execution and has worked in the Venture Capital and Investment Banking industries for over 10 years, focusing on areas ranging from early stage investing and consulting to leading acquisition and divestiture strategy for large fortune 500 companies.

As an investment banker, focusing on mergers & acquisitions, intellectual property, valuations, exit strategies, business advisory and consulting, he has worked to support transaction execution alongside leading Venture Capital firms including Ignition Partners, Sequoia Capital, Insight Partners, and Voyager Capital.

During his Investment Banking career, working with Chicago firms Sikich and as a Vice President with Billow Butler & Co. , Alex has worked on, and led, over 60 transactions with well over $1 billion in collective transaction value.Alex began his career as an Investment Advisor with Morgan Stanley, focusing on a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets, and advisory solutions for large institutional and ultra-high net worth investors and, prior to his full time transition to the investment banking realm in 2014, founded and operated a venture capital firm in Chicago providing growth capital and advisory services to early stage healthcare and technology companies.

In 2017 & 2018 Alex sat on the board of Matter Health Venture's PROPEL Healthcare Conference, where he worked with Matter Health Ventures advising and consulting healthcare startups, at all stages of growth, on product development, marketing strategy, capital raise strategy, IP and exit strategy. Alex is a FINRA registered representative, holding his Series 7, Series 79, Series 65 and Series 63 Licenses.

Director, Regulatory
Jason currently leads Virga's Blockchain and Government Relations group, to include Government Contracts within the Federal, State & Local, and Civilian levels.Mr. Price has been supporting partnerships and platform development in the  Government Contracting realm working with the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community since 2011, and in 2015 started a Government Contracting services firm providing Cyber Security, Financial Anlaysis, and ancillary services to Intelligence Community agencies.

After the firms acquisition in 2017 Jason immersed himself in the Cryptocurrency community (investing, mining, and trading) and was brought on as the Chief Operating Officer of Financial technology and software engineering firm Dolare, where he oversaw the firms payment processing services, tokenization, and where he provided end to end compliance analysis to depository banks.Prior to his work supporting government contracting objectives

Jason began his career as an Investment Analyst for Wachovia Securities, focusing on a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets, and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, government and institutional clients. Jason currently sits as the Directory of Emerging Technology for a government contractor where he oversees Product Development, Business Development, and operations serving Private and Public Sector clientele.
